Junior Running Group Easter Fun
We had a good turnout again at the regular Wednesday night BRJ junior running group, but training was a bit different this week. It being Easter week there were plenty of eggs, spoons and chocolate about, not usual items at our junior sessions, but it all made for some Easter fun.
After the usual warm-up taken this week by team captains Ed Cochrane and Emily Wake-Primett the junior runners set off on a 1.6 mile Guestimate run. Runners had to guest how long the run would take them. The nearest actual time to the guestimated time won a large Easter Egg as a prize. Fin Ruddock won the boys guestimate and Amie Smith won the girls event.
This was followed by a team Egg and Spoon relay race. Parents/adults were persuaded to make up an extra team of nine to compete against the three junior teams to add a little spice, with the adults only managing to finish third of the four teams, much to the delight of the juniors.
Overall it was a fun evening for all with all the children getting a bag of mini chocolate eggs to finish. Thanks to Mel for organising the evenings events.
