The BRJ Laragh Alconbury Duathlon is now in its second year and offers a great road duathlon and cross country run through the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Suitable for both novices and experienced athletes!

The BRJ Laragh Alconbury Duathlon is a sprint and a standard duathlon (run-bike-run), on quiet roads and tracks, in rural Cambridgeshire.

  • Sprint: 5km run - 20km Bike - 2.5km run.
  • Standard: 10km run - 40km Bike - 5Km run

Course Info

The circular Run Route is a mixture of grass paths, concrete farm roads, asphalt paths and a very small section of minor public road. There is a steep uphill section. A map of the run route is here (opens in a new window)

The circular Cycle Route is on minor public roads through several villages with tee-junctions and one traffic island. A map of the cycle route is here (opens in a new window), it also shows climbs and elevation on the route

Race entry is now closed. You must have entered in advance, there are no entries on the day

Entry Fees: £36 BTF members, £41 non BTF Members, plus administration fee

A 2018 BTF Race Licence must be produced on race day, failure to do so will result in competitor having to purchase a day licence at a cost of £5.

If you are not a BTF member you are required to purchase a day membership to take part in a BTF sanctioned event. A day membership provides you with civil liability and personal accident insurance cover during the event. The cost of a day membership for this event is £5.

 

 

Location

The Race HQ and transition area is located at Alconbury Sports and Social Club, Great North Road, Alconbury, Huntingdon, Cambs PE28 4EX.

From London and the south using the A1
On the A1 northbound take the exit for the B1043 (signposted "The Alconburys, The Stukeleys, RAF Alconbury, Non-motorway traffic, B1043"). At the island take the second exit (signposted "The Alconburys") and pass through Alconbury village. Once the speed limit changes from 30mph to 40mph continue for a further 0.2 miles. The race HQ will be on your right.

From Cambridge, London and the south using the A14
At junction 23 the A14 splits into two roads, confusingly both are still the A14. You should continue on the dual carriageway northbound towards Peterborough (signposted "The North, Peterborough, A1(M)"), do not peel off left towards "The Midlands, M6, Kettering, March, A141". After about 1.25 miles take the exit for the B1043 (signposted "The Alconburys, The Stukeleys, B1043"). At the next island take the first exit (signposted "London (A1)"). At the next island take the first exit (signposted "London (A1)"), don't head into Alconbury village. At the next island take the third exit (signposted "Alconbury") cross over the top of the A1 to the next island and take the third exit (signposted "The Alconburys"). Pass through Alconbury village. Once the speed limit changes from 30mph to 40mph continue for a further 0.2 miles. The race HQ will be on your right.

From the north using the A1 and A1(M)
On the A1(M) southbound exit at junction 14 onto the A14. Within approximately 0.75 miles take the exit for the B1043 (signposted "The Alconburys, The Stukeleys, B1043"). At the first island take the first exit. At the second island take the first exit (signposted "A1, Peterboro', (A1(M))". Cross over the top of the A14 and at the next island go straight over taking the second exit (signposted "London (A1)"). At the next island take the first exit (signposted "London (A1)"), don't head into Alconbury village. At the next island take the third exit (signposted "Alconbury") cross over the top of the A1 to the next island and take the third exit (signposted "The Alconburys"). Pass through Alconbury village. Once the speed limit changes from 30mph to 40mph continue for a further 0.2 miles. The race HQ will be on your right.
